Some early Star Wars art to celebrate May the Fourth. Really digging the WW1 aesthetics I've seen so far for the Mudtroopers and Mimban conflict on a whole in the previews for Solo, so these guys were an easy choice of subject for this year's Star Wars day illustration. It's heavily based on an iconic shot from the opening of Genndy Tartakovsky's Clone Wars series and it was interesting to experiment with his style while also adding my own tweaks. I'm looking forward to seeing these guys in the movie!

Happy Star Wars Day!

Perfect. Yes! The Mud Troops. I really liked & truly enjoyed Solo a lot. An underrated film for sure. Shame on disney for failing to support this effort from Ron Howard. There should have been a second film, at least in my opinion. And, the villain played by Paul Bettany, was brilliant! Loved Dryden Vos. I was very sad when they killed him. He plays the darker side really well! So, I LOVE your take, very Mcquarrie-esk indeed. BRAVO!
